Third Vocal Coach and the Best By Far!
I made so much progress here! Alyssa here at DB is a wonderful teacher. She's the third vocal coach I've had, and the best by far. She's so considerate and inspiring, and she helped me to accomplish things that previous coaches told me I simply couldn't do.

Our promise:
1) Close-knit Community
Music is an inherently lonely endeavor. Hours of practice alone in a room, repetition, scales, burn-out. Here at Double Bar you are part of the Family! Our teachers will attend your Open Night Mic. We will go out of our way to make you/your child feel seen, confident, and welcome!
2) Confidence from Day One!
We understand that reaching out for help is vulnerable. It can be scary or anxiety inducing. Our teachers will always go at your own pace. We have helped the shy kid transform into a rock star. We have instilled confidence in the quiet ones who need help finding their voice. We will meet you where you are and take each lesson one step at a time.
3) Flexible Scheduling
Everyone has a life outside of music lessons. Juggling multiple kids' schedules, work obligations, personal days, vacations, religious obligations, and taking the dog for his 6th walk. We offer flexible scheduling, make up lessons, and multiple billing plans that fit your needs.
4) Filling the Knowledge-Gaps
Voice lessons are frequently requested by those who are self-taught or have some previous knowledge. Our Teachers are trained to spot the gaps specifically in self-taught individuals, bridging the gaps in knowledge, and helping you reach your goals.
How can I help my child if I don't have musical knowledge?
Being supportive and interested are the first steps to a successful lesson program. Ask your student to perform for you weekly (even just 10-15 minutes) to show you are engaged in their progress. Tell them you noticed XYZ improving this month compared to last month. Help ensure they are meeting their daily/weekly practice sessions with gentle guidance and reminders. Parents can even sit in on their child's lesson to get an idea of how the song should song or what techniques their teacher is focusing on this week. Our teachers also meet with you after the lesson in our lobby to discuss any notes or ways to be most effective with at home practice!
Do I always have the same instructor?
What if I need to cancel?
Call the studio at 774-319-5554
Email the studio at info@doublebarmusic.com
If the lesson is prepaid via our monthly billing plan, the lesson will be banked for a makeup lesson with the same instructor or substitute (depending on studios' availability)
If the lesson is paid weekly and cancelled more than 24 hours in advance, the lesson can be rescheduled or simply forfeited and we will see you at your next scheduled lesson!
If the lesson is paid weekly and cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, the lesson will be forfeited and lesson rate charged. We understand emergencies happen and allow one last minute cancellation per family.
At Double Bar we prioritize the student-teacher relationship. Every week study with the same teacher - grow with someone who knows you and is invested in your journey.
When rescheduling a lesson or booking a makeup lesson, we always try to book with the same teacher first! We understand how important that is for you and make it our goal to always accomodate!
Do I need anything for the lesson?
Just your guitar and a pencil! We have amplifiers, speakers, and music stands right here in the studio. All you have to do is check-in and starting playing!
If you need any materials for the lesson (books, drumsticks, guitar picks, etc.) we have everything in stock at Double Bar! Package it with your first lesson or pick it up when you need it. We have a wide variety of retail and replacement parts to keep your instruments up to snuff and the music playing!
